Bake Sale for a Good Cause
June 22, 2017
On Saturday June 10, 2017 I held a bake sale on the Prospect Hill Fields to raise awareness about rain forest destruction and funds to protect it. In school I was doing a unit about the rain forest and I learned that the rainforest is getting destroyed because people are mining for gold, farmers are clearing for crops, and ranchers use the land for cattle.
I raised $60.00 by selling brownies and homemade lemonade and with every purchase; I gave out cupcakes for free. At the bake I told people, “If you want to live the rain forest has to live too because it produces 20% of Earth’s oxygen.” I hope you keep protecting the rain forest!
